Kentucky State Police are investigating a crash on Doe Creek Road in Estill County. At least one vehicle was submerged in the Kentucky River. On Wednesday, Dec.15 at 5:06 p.m., Trooper John Felder responded to a possible crash on Doe Creek Road and upon his arrival found evidence at the scene that suggested a vehicle had driven into the Kentucky River. The Estill County Swift Water Rescue Team and Estill County Fire and Rescue also responded. At 9:00 p.m., a diver entered the water and located the vehicle, but found no evidence of any occupants. Rescue personnel remained at the scene overnight and have resumed search efforts after being delayed due to hazardous weather conditions. Kentucky State Police cannot confirm the identity of the driver, or if there were any other occupants in the vehicle. The vehicle has since been pulled to the riverbank and the crash is still under investigation.
