KY Population Up, Delegation Keeps All Six Congressional Seats

The Census numbers were released yesterday and Kentucky's population grew by about seven and a half percent in the past ten years. That means the Commonwealth will keep all six of its congressional seats. The over all population increased by 300 thousand in the ten years since the last Census. Even with keeping all six seats in Congress, congressional district lines will have to be redrawn since Kentucky's population has shifted. House Speaker Greg Stumbo's spokesman said that likely won't happen until 2012.
