There's meeting coming up on Thursday, set to answer questions about the proposed Eastern Bypass around Nicholasville. It'll be from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Blue Building at City-County Park at the end of Longview Drive in Nicholasville. The public can ask about how the road will wrap around the east side of the city, cutting the around to traffic through Nicholasville. There will be reps at the meeting from the state Transportation Cabinet, and there will be engineers on hand who can also answer questions. The planned bypass is just under seven and a half miles that will cost about 42 million dollars to build. After all the necessary rights of way are bought, officials say construction should start in 2014.
