Casey County observed Memorial Day on Saturday as people there remembered the reason for the day. Some came from Michigan and more from Indiana to Cold Springs Cemetery that day to pay tribute to soldiers who have died in combat. A World War II Veteran was awarded a Kentucky Colonel. Those in attendance at the ceremony said he was only a private when he left the service, but was promoted to colonel.
