Harrodsburg Residents to Pay More for Sewer Service

Harrodsburg Mayor Eddie Long says government should be honest with its people, so he explained why residents will pay higher sewer rates this summer. He said that the increase will be just under 20 percent. That means that the average bill of about 24 dollars a month will go up to nearly 30 dollars a month. Those who pay the minimum will see that minimum go up: from 8.80 to 11 dollars a month. So why are the rates going up? Mayor Long honestly said that the sewage plant is old and needs to be upgraded to keep working properly.
