The Mercer County Coroner said that 19 year old Sophia Ammons was killed when her vehicle was hit by a train. Chuck Bugg said the crash happened around 9:15 a.m. Investigators said the Harrodsburg teen was driving over the tracks on Bohon Road, just west of Harrodsburg and the moving train collided with her pick up truck. Bugg said the teen died of blunt force trauma when she was thrown out of the truck. He said she may not have seen the train for sunlight in her eyes, and was killed instantly.
