Synth Drugs Could be Banned in Lancaster

Lancaster city council could be getting closer to banning the sale of synthetic drugs. That's what council members voted for, five to one, on the first reading of the ordinance. It could be a class A misdemeanor to sell or use the chemically produced drugs that give the same "high" as the real drugs like pot or opiates. The drugs are usually sold as bath salts or incense, but are otherwise ingested, giving off the high. If the ordinance passes it would not outlaw legitimate salts like epsom salt or sea salt.
