Danville High Qualifies Six For National Speech and Debate Tourney

Danville High School placed first in speech and first in congress in the team competitions during the National Forensic League’s Kentucky District Tournament at Centre College.

DHS qualified six students for the Indianapolis national speech and debate tournament, the world’s largest academic competition, in June. DHS students won several other prizes at the competition. Some students qualified for nationals in more than one event and will choose which event to compete in. Danville High School assistant coaches Christel Belcher and Beth Marlowe were named the District Coaches of the Year at an awards ceremony.
