Kentucky State Police are not investigating Pioneer Vocational Industrial Services' finances. The Advocate Messenger reported on Saturday that the Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations unit has also launched a drug investigation into the non-profit that makes work available for the developmentally disabled. Pioneer has been in existence for 43 years. The investigation does not come in the wake of 34 of its employees being let go, but has been going on for some time. Another 30 employees are still working, as is the core staff.
