It looks like Brenda Powers will carry on as Lancaster's mayor, even after all but one city council member called for her resignation a month ago. They debated the issue at Monday night's meeting, then city attorney Leonard Smith advised council to take no action on the issue. The audience at Monday's meeting may also have had a hand in what didn't happen, as they called for the mayor and council to move on, and work together.
