Emergency Management is recommending the public stay close to media outlets this afternoon as severe weather moves across the state. Kentucky Emergency Management Director John Heltzel says everyone should stay calm, but be prepared.
In preparing, you should also make sure you are wearing good, sturdy shoes, have a supply of water and food and make sure your cell phones are charged in case of a loss of power. It is also recommended to have an out of state contact prepared in case local cell phone service is lost.
